SIGdial – the Special Interest Group on Discourse and Dialogue, is a Special Interest Group of the Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL). It is a non-profit cooperative organization sponsored by an international community of researchers in government, industry, and education.

AVIOS and SIGdial share overlapping missions, wherein the AVIOS bias towards applied technology is balanced by the SIGdial emphasis on pure research. Collaboration between the two organizations will amplify the intersection between the groups’ missions.
